PAUL HARTMANN has launched the HARTMANN Shear Comfort® Pressure Care and Foot Care range of medical grade sheepskin products, designed to help reduce the risk of pressure ulcers - using innovative design and Australian wool.
HARTMANN Shear Comfort® is one of only two companies in Australia that produce medical sheepskin pressure care products that comply with the Australian Standard – Textiles for Health Care Facilities and Institutions - AS4480-1 1998. HARTMANN Shear Comfort® is also TGA approved.
Australian Standards require all medical sheepskins to be coloured blue or green. HARTMANN Shear Comfort® is the only sheepskin pressure care range that is manufactured in blue.
Unlike other sheepskins, HARTMANN Shear Comfort® products can be washed for a minimum of 50 times at 80°C / 176°F achieving high-level thermal disinfection and without losing any of their therapeutic properties. Trials have proven that HARTMANN Shear Comfort® has a long life extended by specialised tanning processes. It is robust enough to withstand the most demanding institutional laundry environments.
HARTMANN Shear Comfort® is urine resistant and is made to repel the urea in urine so that it is not absorbed into the skin layer of the product.
The HARTMANN Shear Comfort® range consists of 17 products varying from Pressure Care, to Foot Care. HARTMANN Shear Comfort® products are manufactured with a unique Air TecTM process and introduction of a matrix of holes into the skin which promotes air circulation - reducing perspiration and allowing the skin to breathe.
