Presentation The patient presented with a resolving case of cellulitis in both lower legs.
On investigation, both limbs had suffered superficial skin loss due to blistering associated with soft tissue infection.
Treatment Moist wound dressing was contraindicated due to the presence of oedema, high levels of exudate and the need for frequent dressing changes.
The wounds were dressed with Atrauman and Zetuvit, and the dressing secured with a tubular bandage. Dressings were changed daily.
Conclusion This regimen was continued until the oedema had resolved and the leakage from the wounds was significantly reduced. At this time a moist wound healing regimen was introduced.
